One Penny coin

Sent by Bray to himself on 23rd April 1899.

Bray drilled a hole through an old penny coin through which he threaded the string of a parcel label, addressed the label to himself, and posted it forgetting to add the requisite postage stamp. Fortunately the coin was delivered safely albeit with a 2d. charge for lack of prepayment.
