Thrown from Railway Carriage
Postcard thrown by Bray from a moving railway carriage as he was passing through a station.
Bray wrote the request for its return in verse hoping to appeal to the finder.
Found by Mr. Jones at South Docks, Poplar on 12th August 1899.
Bray did not attach a stamp to pay for return postage so a 1d. charge was applied. Two months after it had been returned Bray wrote a desciption of the relevance of the postmarks on the front highlighting the use of the same office number (11B) on both the datestamp and the charge mark.
