Alberto Phillips Huneeus, (1872-1962).
Diplomat and Chilean business manager, born in Santiago on October 24, 1872 and died in 1962, who contributed his great vocation as a public servant to the foreign representation of Chile and the administration of financial and industrial companies.
Alberto Phillips was the eighth of eleven children of the marriage formed by Enrique Phillips Thompsons, born in Newport (Great Britain) in 1830 and Adelaida Huneeus Zegers, daughter of Jorge Huneeus and Isidora Zegers. He studied at the Naval School, institution founded in 1818 by Bernardo O'Higgins with the name of Academy of Marine Guards and from very early showed interest in the representation abroad of his country, as well as in the organizational and economic management of private entities
In regard to the diplomatic side of his professional life, Alberto Phillips was secretary of the Chilean Legation in London, served as Consul General of Chile in Great Britain, consul of Chile in Antwerp in 1939 and consul general in Switzerland in 1940
